Expository EssayExpository Essays have as a main purpose to present in a full or partly someone’s opinion about subject, event or situation. Expository writing, or exposition, presents a subject in detail, apart from criticism, argument, or development. Such kind of writing is discourse designed to convey information or explain what is difficult to understand. Exposition usually proceeds by the orderly analysis of parts and the use of familiar illustrations or analogies.
To make out good expository essay you should start from reading, studying the plot of topic and understanding ideas developed in an article. One important point to keep in mind when you are writing expository essay is try to use words that clearly show what they are talking about rather than blatantly telling the reader what is being discussed. But everything should be expressed in the way not to distort the meaning and attitude of author. Use the same words as the author of the story or main characters of situation did use, try to make the same emphasizes and intonations. Do not use national words, that may be unknown to at least one of your listeners.
Each paragraph should be limited by the exposition of one general idea. This will allow to clarity and direction throughout the essay. What is more, such conciseness creates an ease of readability for one’s audience. It is important to note that each paragraph in the body of the essay must have some logical connection to the thesis statement in the opening paragraph. All supporting sentences within each body paragraph must have a direct and factual relationship to the dominant point.A well-written exposition remains focused on its topic and lists events in chronological order.
I can name expository essay a variant of usual informational article. As usual it will consist of 3 parts: introduction, main part – body f the essay and the final word – conclusion, where you will summarize everything you have told.
During exposiroting you can use comparison, contradiction, contrasting, looking for advantages and disadvantages of the plot, making characteristics, find out causes, influences and effect on different situations.
It is hard to present it as not everybody can share thoughts of others and not everybody can do it correctly. To be successful in it, you should have the same opinion, or close to that you want to share, only it will help you.
As a matter of fact, this article became expository for me, because I am a real profane in writing and literature.
