Creative Writing: I am Abigail Adams
Hello, my name is Abigail Adams. I was born in 1744 as Abigail Smith. I was born in Weymouth, Massachusetts. I was the second of my siblings which is four, Mary, Elizabeth, and Will were my three sisters and brother. My father and mother were Reverend William Smith and Elizabeth Quincy. I was baptized the week after I was born because my health was very very very delicate and fragile and my body was frail. I didn?t go to school because of my health. My dog, Rover, kept me company on lonely days when I couldn?t go somewhere with my family and so did Phoebe, our househand. I loved knitting and playing with friends. Sometimes we would have knitting contests to see who could make a stocking first for the men fighting in the French and Indian war because it gets very cold up north. My nickname is Nabby. My older sister, Mary, had trouble pronouncing Abigail that she called me Nabby.
When I was growing up I acted like a tomboy. I was very witty and energetic. I helped anyone at anytime. I helped do pots and pans at the home and I helped with the farm animals when I was asked to. When I was growing up I had to take this disgusting tonic for my health. It was very gross. I helped keep boys out of the ammo in the meeting house by scaring them away with ghosts and my trustee dog, Rover. I loved to go to my aunt?s house in Boston. My uncle owned a store that sold goods that came from overseas. He owned a boat too that had lots and lots of different colored dyes. Boston was awesome.

When I was 20 of age I married a dedicated lawyer named John Adams. I met him in Boston at a party. He lived Braintree, Massachusetts. He is the future second president of these here United States of America. John and I had five children, Tom, Charles, John Quincy, Little Abigail, and Elizabeth. One of my three boys grew up to be the sixth president of these here United States of America. I was the first lady to meet the Queen of England. I am a very well educated lady and wittier then all my friends. I am the only woman who is the First Lady of the United States of America and a mother of another president. I was known for my intelligence, wittiness, patriotism, and devotion to the country.
