Nurture Determines a Person's Personality

Nurture Determines a Person's Personality
Are we born with our how we see the world? This discussion has been going on for over two hundred years. The basic question of nature personalities or dose our environment determine how we act and vs. Nurture. It all started with an argument between John Locke and Jean-Jacques Rousseau. John Locke went with the nurture side saying as babies we are born without knowledge, and human development is received through experiences and education. Jean-Jacques Rousseau augured saying since birth we already have out personality and abilities. Nurture as the most important effect on an outcome on a persons life than nature. Nature is what determines a persons abilities and knowledge. Lets say a person had a genetically link towards aggression. If the person is raised in a peaceful environment and is taught well he will be able to control that aggression and be a calm person. Researchers have discovered that children abused in early childhood will become abusers themselves.
These examples shows that nurture is what determines the person you become. In 1970 police found a girl who was lock inside a room all her life for ten years. Police where shocked the find the girl was trapped on a dark room tied to a toilet. The girl was known as genie. After they rescued gene, they have noticed that she couldn?t talk or walk correctly. Her movements where as a rabbit one researcher said. Researchers and scientist tried there best to help genie to learn. But in the end they couldn?t help genie. Years of isolation in a dark room can cause this to happen. The harsh environment which genie was raised in caused her to have weaknesses in her ability to talk and walk. Nurture determined how Genie ended up. Another example is the wild child. In 1801 a 12-year-old boy was discovered in the woods in France. The boy was raised by a pack of wolves. A doctor named jean-Marie renamed the boy victor. Jean decided to take the challenge of raising the child. He noticed how the boy blurted out sounds. He also noticed how he ate with his hands. One day Jean took Victor out in the snow. Surprisingly Victor didn?t show any sign of coldness in the snow knowing that he was naked. The environment in which Victor was raised in determined how he ate and how he interacted also to the extent of the temperature he can handle. Jean never managed to turn victor normal as a child. The environment affected Victor to the extent that he couldn?t become normal. In conclusion, Nurture is most important in a person?s life. Nurture is what determines how a person acts and sees the world. Genie harsh environment caused her not to talk or walk normally. Victor that was raised with wolves caused him to become an animal himself. These are all examples how nurture is dominant over nature. People aren?t born with their abilities and personality. The environment in which they live in and the experiences they have determine how they act and what they become.
