The Future of Nuclear Power Stations

The Future of Nuclear Power Stations
Most countries accept that more nuclear power stations should be built to meet the world?s growing energy requirement because it is economical and also there is technology to produce nuclear energy already exist. However, some of countries think that nuclear energy is extremely dangerous because of risk of nuclear accidents and results of these accidents such as killing people and destroying environment like the accident which happened at Three Mile Island nuclear power station in the US in 1979.
On the other hand, nuclear energy completely safe because if governments take effective productive measures, there will not serious release of radioactivity and harm to people or surrounding countryside. These opponents totally disagree for two reasons. To begin with, nuclear energy is economical because small amounts of nuclear fuel are equal to large amounts of nuclear energy. To illustrate, 20 tones of nuclear fuel are equal to 3 weeks? electricity for city with population 1000 000 and 120 000 tones of oil necessary to generate same amount of electricity. Moreover, there is technology to produce nuclear energy already exist. In other words, if more nuclear power station is built, there is no need to invest money in development of new technology at present. In fact, 1 000 nuclear power stations is functioning efficiently in many countries such as the US, France, Russia, India, etc. In conclusion more nuclear power stations should be built because it is economical and technology of produce power nuclear energy has already existed.
