Illustrative Essay

Many students are beginning to realize that there are different types of essays that they can write. Thanks to the internet, they can now learn how to write different
types of articles when their teachers ask them to write them. In this post, we will talk about an illustrative essay.
An illustrative essay is an article that only has one goal, to illustrate something to the readers so they can understand the descriptions of a notion, an idea, an object, event, place or person. In most cases, students misidentify an illustrative essay as a descriptive essay. Well they have some similarities. However, the main goal of writing a descriptive essay is to describe the physical or non-tangible features of things. On the other hand, an illustrative essay is more like providing an illustration to an idea much more like providing a sample for the conditions described by the writer.
How do we write an illustrative essay? An illustrative essay will still apply the same instructions as writing any other essay types. First, you need to come up with a good topic. A topic for writing must be important, relevant, feasible, has many supporting resource materials and most importantly, you are familiar with it. Your familiarity with the topic will boost your confidence in illustrating something to your readers. You should be the first one to have full understanding and knowledge of the topic.
Next, write a simply outline. An outline will be a great help for you if you want to write an illustrative essay that will entice readers to read your work. Make sure that the outline will serve as a plan of action to what you are trying to prove in your essay. The outline can have several parts depending on the degree of discussion that you wish to incorporate into your essay.
Write the different parts of the essay. An article should have the introduction, which will present what the topic is all about. It should also include the thesis statement that will become the main point or idea in the article. The body paragraphs will be the supporting details for your thesis statement. It should also be the part where you will illustrate the topic of interest. Moreover, you can provide proofs and examples for your subject, as this is the main goal of writing an illustrative essay. The last part is the conclusion. It will provide a summary of the whole paper.
