The Bipolar Brain and the Creative Mind
"Our hospital was famous and had housed many great poets and singers. Did the hospital specialize in poets and singers, or was it that poets and singers specialized in madness? ... What is it about meter and cadence and rhythm that makes their makers mad?"

Creative breif of Ballys Gym

Creative breif of Ballys Gym
For Bally Total Fitness our intended advertising strategy is to appeal to young men and women aged 18-25. We would like to reach them through various channels by appealing to their emotions. We feel that by evoking such emotion will encourage each potential customer to take action. With our radio commercial, we want to reach out to those who believe that working out is like a chore. Also we want to let them know about the support system that Bally has to offer. Most people are not aware of the caring and professionally trained individuals who are there and willing to help out in our gyms.

Environment Analysis: Creative Confections

Environment Analysis: Creative Confections
"I've always liked to be adventurous with food, especially desserts," said Lavonne Temple, founder of Creative Confections (CC), a small and emerging specialty bakery in Jacksonville, Florida. Starting with cake and candy recipe experimentation in 2002, Temple developed a tidy little business selling scrumptious specialty cakes and candies from a home-based operation. Increasing demand for Temple's upscale homemade confections recently poised CC on the brink of major expansion. In the next decade, CC can expect to encounter changing trends within the baking industry, each impacting the company's long-term environmental objectives in remote, industry, and operational contexts.

It was a cold night and Roger Katmandoo ( a 89 year old man) sat on his
front porch. His rocking chair squeeked as he rocked back and forth. Right then

headlights came closer towards Roger as the car's engine screamed. The car was
right at the curb, and it keep going right up into Roger's yard. " Shit" he
yelled as the red 67' Courger drove through his well kept lawn. "Jesus
Palamesus" He hollared "U gonna die U sack of shit" Then the car stoped and
flashed A gun out the winder as Roger pulled up a loose board in the floor of
the porch and grabbed his machine gun.

The Effects of Global Warming

The Effects of Global Warming
Global warming is one of the problems and one of the human causes in the world that people are facing to protect their children, homes and the world. Many countries which have large number of factories have decided to stop global warming by stopping gasses, Co2 and other poisonous gases such as greenhouse gas. Global warming is defined as the gradual rise in the temperature of the bottom layer near to the Earth?s surface from the atmosphere surrounding the earth and it also defined as the change in temperature, wind condition and sea rate due to pollution in the world.
Increasing greenhouse and methane gas is causing this rise of temperature. Moreover, methane is resulted from microbial interaction in rice fields and ruminant livestock and burning of biomass (trees, plants and animal waste), also produces water swamps muddy. In addition, there is methane gas called oxide nitrous also consist of microbial interactions occurring in water and soil and the Group of chlorofluorocarbon gases which cause erosion of the ozone layer, and finally ozone gas, which consists in the lower atmosphere. Moreover, increasing pollution rate and gasses could change the thermal energy from the environment.
The aim of this project is to explain global? warming effects and also to explain how could the global warming be decreased by using other sources for energy, for example solar energy and wind power instead of oil and coal that effect rising temperature and pollution in the world. The last part is to compare and contrast between solar energy and wind power.

To Sir with Love: discourses, positions and relationships

To Sir with Love: discourses, positions and relationships
Identify and discuss professional issues in education evident in a film or a piece of young people?s literature in which a teacher plays a fairly cental role.

This essay will critically analyse the discourses, positions and relationships, as well as certain individuals habitus? (after Bourdieu and Wacquant, 1992, cited in Gale & Densmore, 2000), which influence the classroom of Mark Thackeray (Sidney Potier) in the film To Sir with Love (Clavell, 1966). Via this analysis, I argue that the film portrays a simplistic, commercial palatable rather than a realistic image of the challenges of teaching, leading the viewer to a distorted perception of the implications of the various discourses employed.
In order to clarify this point, I compare several incidents depicted in the film, with the same incidents as they are described in the autobiographical book by E.R. Braithwaite(Braithwaite, 1959), upon which the film is based. In doing so, I will evaluate the pedagogy of the films teacher (Thackeray) against the standards set for graduates and teachers respectively by the Queensland Board of Teacher Registration (hereafter btr) and Education Queensland (hereafter EQ). Identifying the faulty conclusions which an uncritical viewing of the film may lead to, with regard to the availability of equal opportunity and social justice, I will make specific recommendations for reconstructed teaching practice, drawing on literature on social justice and democratic schooling.

Brown-Forman Corporation Marketing Study

Brown-Forman Corporation Marketing Study
Brown-Forman Corporation is one of the largest American companies in the wind and spirits industry, Fetzer Vineyards is their largest winemaker. Revenue and gross profit for the beverage segment of Brown-Forman were up 11% and 14%, respectively, in fiscal 2004. However, the growth was driven by the premium spirits brands, and the gross profit from the company?s wine brands declined due to a drop in volume for both Fetzer and Bolla wines. There are many symptoms for why this decline has occurred. Health consciousness is a rising trend among Americans of all ages and the latest crazes are the low-carbohydrate diets. Recently, Fetzer has introduced into the market two new low-carbohydrate wines, a chardonnay and a merlot. Their premium spirits brands have not been affected by the new diets because bourbon, whiskey, rum, gin, and vodka all contain no carbohydrates. However, most mixers used to accompany these spirits usually contain a significant amount of carbohydrates. Introducing these new wines could offer a new choice, but not a substitute, for many dieters and at the same time give Brown-Forman the lead in this new market.

Design Build Test Operate

Design Build Test Operate
The purpose of the detail design class is to provide a design-build-test-operate experience for the student. The requirements for the project that the students select begin with the requirement that the project have a minimum of three subsystems, chosen as a subset of the subsystems used in the project from preliminary design. In addition, it must have more than one sub-assembly; there must be a subset of the requirements that are test-able (with our campus facilities); it must undergo a vibrations test according to the requirements specified by the chosen launch vehicle; and the structure must be tested to failure.

The design component consists of detailed drawings submitted in the context of the configuration management system defined under the Design folder in the Courses drive. More detail of the design component is given in the Design Components section.

The students are required to build their design. This enables them to understand the manufacturability of their paper concept. It also gives them the opportunity to see if their predictions on the performance of their system are good. The build process provides an opportunity for the students to see clearly what the integration issues are in bringing the various subsystems together.

Report on the Business of Marks and Spencer

Report on the Business of Marks and Spencer
This is a report on Marks and Spencer a well known retail company. The business that I have chosen to do is well know in the UK retail. This business is Marks and Spencer. Marks and Spencer has also recently been in the news for falling profit and sales in 1999/2000. So Marks and Spencer is business which is on it way to recover. Famous for setting the highest of standards in the retail industry, pioneering its own chargecard and generating such snob value on its products, yet controlling prices to bring their products within most people?s reach. Marks and Spencer has extended its brand overseas where it continues to achieve substantial growth. This is likely to be its main source of growth in the near and long term future as the company develops its franchise business. There are a total of 628 locations worldwide. The company also makes great weight of how it is run ? first class customer service, operating efficiency (through economies of scale), long-term partnership with suppliers, financial services, staff remuneration and overall packages the best in the high street. Following a wide-ranging and detailed strategic review of its business, the Board of Marks & Spencer has announced significant changes to the Group strategy and structure. The Board and management team is committed to restoring profitable growth. This will be achieved by total focus on the recovery of the UK Retail business.
