Petition

It does not matter if you personally like or dislike Obama. You need to sign this petition and flood his e-mail box with e-mails that tell him that, even if the House passes this bill, he needs to veto it. It is already impossible to live on Social Security alone.

Desert Problem For Young Earth Creation Science

Young-earth creationists have a problem. According to their creation model, all the fossil-bearing rock layers in the world need to be created during the Flood of Noah. Fossils, in ancient rock layers, imply that death occurred before the Fall of man, which is contrary to their interpretation of Scripture.

The most visible rock layers in the world are those in the Grand Canyon. For many years young-earth creation scientists have invested a lot of time and research into the...

The River Rhine Case Study

The River Rhine Case Study
The River Rhine rises in the Swiss Alps about 3,353 metres above sea level and flows north, passing through or bordering Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Austria, Germany, France, and the Netherlands and then its mouth is located at the North Sea. The Rhine is usually at its maximum volume during the seasons of spring and summer; this is due to the fact that there is the melted water of snow and glaciers. In this enquiry I am looking at the aspect of river flooding in the Rhine, particularly in 1995. A river flood is when a river spills its banks onto areas of land surrounding it that are not usually covered by water. Causes The main causes for river flooding are: S Heavy rainfall ? causes soil to become saturated and not allow infiltration. S Rapidly melting snow S Dam bursts S Soil saturation ? this may cause a river to flood as the water would not be able to infiltrate the soil and so will encourage overland flow. S Deforestation ? this may cause flooding as there are no trees to intercept the rain and so the soil will become saturated. S Ploughing ? this may cause flooding as it creates gullies which water can flow down towards the river S Urbanisation (extending built up areas) ? this may cause a river to flood as the concrete and tarmac that is laid over the soil send more water to the river than to the fields which they replaced.

The Fossil Record And Creation Science

Young earth creationists commonly point to the fossil record in order to support their position. In one instance, the article "The Fossil Record: Becoming More Random All the Time" by John Woodmorappe, has some very good points to it (Footnote 1). Read it if you like, (its a long one), but you don't have to much farther than the abstract to see problems. Actually, some are problems, and some are deceptions.

The abstract states that "The reality of the geologic column is pr...

Man I’m Thirsty!

It seems odd doesn’t it? People go on about global warming and the rising temperatures and yet some areas seem colder than normal. That’s weird! People go on about the melting icebergs and the rising oceans and then swear that we’re in for severe water shortages. How does that work? Global warming should cause warmer weather right? And higher oceans and melted glaciers should mean more water for the masses right? Sorry folks, but it’s just not that simple.

The Earth is a v...

Kakadu National Park

Kakadu National Park
Kakadu was declared a national park on 5 April 1979, and also granted world heritage status in 1979. Kakadu National Park is a magnificent part of Australia, and contains many beautiful features.

The name ?kakadu? comes from the land?s traditional aboriginal owners, the Gagudju people. They have interacted with Kakadu for over 50 000 years, one of the longest periods of interaction found anywhere on earth. The Aboriginal rock art is of particular significance as it provides us an insight of the Gagadju people?s lives for over 50 000 years. The art also records the changes to the physical environment over the time. The Gagadju have a close spiritual bond with knp, meaning that they don?t wish to dominate knp; instead they live in harmony with it.

Floods of 1998 in Bangladesh and Shrewsbury

Floods of 1998 in Bangladesh and Shrewsbury
Floods of 1998 in Bangladesh and Shrewsbury Causes, Effects and responses to flooding In Shrewsbury The Severn Valley floods, Shrewsbury, UK 1998: Causes == The human causes of the floods were summed up by the then Shadow Countryside Minister Tim Yeo MP, he said ?the flooding had increased because of the housing developments on Greenfield sites.? By this he means that by covering the land with tarmac in urban areas humans have increased the rate of surface runoff and decreased the saturation levels of the ground. When surface runoff is high rainwater reaches the river faster. It would appear that the speed in which the water reached the river was too fast for the river to handle.

Breaking the Workplace Millennial Stereotypes

Breaking the Workplace Millennial Stereotypes
Breaking the Workplace Millennial Stereotypes
The Baby Boomers who dominated the workplace for the past few decades are now beginning to retire in large numbers, making way for the Millennials to flood the positions left behind. With a radically different body of employees filtering into companies across the country, it can be difficult for those who are accustomed to the way things were to get used to the way things will now be. Unfortunately, there are negative stereotypes harbored by Baby Boomers and other generations about Millennial behavior in the workplace. Yet, with some work, new Millennial employees can shatter those prejudices and show everyone that they are hardworking individuals who are unafraid to face challenges head on.
