The Jungle Analysis Paper

The Jungle Analysis Paper
America, by the turn of the twentieth century, was regarded as the ?Land of Opportunity,? and lured thousands of immigrants. The foreigners that fled to the United States were in search of new lives; better lives. America was at the age of industrialization, and the economy was shifting from agriculture to factories. There were jobs in the factories available to un-skilled workers, which were the majority of the immigrants. And industrialists had no problem finding a way to exploit the workers lives.
The migration of Americans from farms to cities and the massive amount of immigration provided an abundant supply of cheap labor. Industrialists saw no economic sense in a hazardless workplace; an injured worker was easily replaced by another. Wages were kept low because there was always another worker willing to work for lower wages. The hiring of women and children as well as men created an excess supply of labor; leaving every worker commanding low wages.

Theme of The Jungle

Theme of The Jungle
In the book The Jungle by Upton Sinclair; this was first published by Fine Creative Media Inc. in 1906 (edition I read was published in 2003) it discuses life as an immigrant and how immigrants foresaw the American dream and how they tired to achieve it. There where many themes for the book. The theme that I took was most important was that life on the other side is not always better then what one has. This theme can be shown many different ways throughout the book. It is shown through the plot and through many examples of event that occurred though the book.

Many students are confused when they are assigned the Malayalam essay. What is Malayalam? Malayalam is one of the four main languages used in south India. Unless your are from the state of Kerala or have some affiliations to Keralites, you may find the language unfamiliar even if you are an Indian. This is because many languages are spoken in different parts of India ranging from Hindi, Urdu, Kannada to Tamil. Malayalam is mainly used in the state of Kerala.
