Nigeria Rainforest

Nigeria Rainforest
There are many rainforests located throughout the
world. Some of these rainforests are in danger. Among
those which are being destroyed are the Nigerian
Rainforests. These rainforests are endangered because of
logging companies among a number of other things.
Rainforests across the world are being destroyed
everyday. These rainforests are being destroyed by human
efforts which are centred around greed. Oil companines
drilling for oil, logging companies, and fires are the
leading causes in destroying the last Nigerian
Rainforest.

Tropical Rain Forest Biome

The tropical biome is an ecosystem unique to areas around the earth’s equator. Parts of South America, South Africa and Southeast Asia are areas most commonly identified as tropical rainforest biomes.

These unusual biomes are home to plants and animals found nowhere else in the world. This is the fact that makes them very unique. In fact, most plants and animals in rainforest biomes are unable to live outside a ‘captive’ environment in other parts of the world. For exa...

Destroying Our Rainforests

Destroying Our Rainforests
Every day an average of two football field sizes of precious rainforest are torn down, killing millions of animals and destroying valuable pharmaceutical plants. A huge amount of these animals and plants have never, and will never be discovered. Experts say, ?Close to eighty percent of the terrestrial species of animals and plants are to be found there [in the rainforest],.? As people tear down the rainforests they are affecting the ozone layer, and disrupting the process that lets plants fight the deadly amount of pollution the world produces every day.

Biome Research Project; Rainforest
Rainforest, a wet, hot environment thriving with life, is just what we wanted to research. Rainforest is so well known but has so many mysteries for us to discover. That is exactly why we choose to do the amazing rainforest to research.
The largest and most well known rainforests are in fact tropical, but they aren?t always tropical. Most rainforests are located near the equator. The largest rainforest covers about 1/3 of South America. There are also major rainforests in western and central Africa, Indonesia, Malaysia, and New Guinea.

The Effects of Losing Rainforest

The Effects of Losing Rainforest
According to the article satellite images reflect that the Amazon rainforest is diminishing at an enormous rate. About 10,000 square miles of this beautiful forest is being lost to pastures for grazing, soybean plantations, and illegal logging. Since the year before there has been a forty percent increase in the deforestation of the Amazon forest. The Amazon is the world?s largest tropical rainforest. They expect this horrible trend to only become worse. Some conclude that if the forest is not protected that it will be wiped out in only eighty years!

How The Rainforest is Being Developed

How The Rainforest is Being Developed
The rainforest ecosystem is under threat from destruction by humans. Many countries and businesses want to take advantage and exploit the resources of the forest. Many organisations want to develop the rainforest as well. The many reason for exploitations are: Logging: Expensive wood such as mahogany is cut down by logging companies and exported across the world. [image]Cattle Ranching: Large areas of the forest have been cleared for raising cattle, which can then be sold for their meat. Roads & Buildings: Land in the forest needs to be cleared to make space for industrial buildings, accommodation for the workers and for building roads to get goods in and out of the region. Mining: Many rainforests have huge reserves of minerals such as gold, iron ore and copper. These are used in industries throughout the world. To get at these minerals, vast stretches of the forest must be destroyed and mines excavated. Mainly the rainforest is used for resources, sometimes industries might develop the rainforest but soon deforestation occurs and issues occur. What Are The Impacts Of Rainforest Development? =========== The destruction of the rainforest results in social and environmental issues within the rainforest community

Deforestation Essay

Deforestation EssayThe tropical rainforests are falling at human hands. The world’s oldest living ecosystem is under threat in our conquest for farmland, timber, minerals, and other resources (Grainger 17). These forests cover 2% of the Earth’s surface, or 6% of its landmass, yet they house over half the plant and animal species on Earth (“Rainforests”). Rainforests originally covered twice that area.

The Human Impact on Rainforests

The Human Impact on Rainforests
Human Impact on Rainforest is it a necessity? Rainforest are the
beautiful gift of Mother Nature. It consists of the most magnificent
species and plants in the world. 4.2% of the world?s animals live in
the rainforest. This statistic it self shows how bad it would be to
destroy such essential part of the worlds biodiversity. Nevertheless
there are still huge advantages of deforestation. But does this mean
2.47 acres of rainforest should be destroyed every single second? This
mean every second of the day size of two football field is lost
forever.
