A Day At The Park

A couple of months ago I went to the park with my nephew. I remember the day like is was yesterday. The weather was cool and clouds were overhead. I sat by myself and watched him play and watched everything happen around me. I wasn’t expecting to find so many interesting things just watching people, but amazed at what I did discover. Children were all over the place and were wearing coats that had their favorite characters on them. A girl had purple mittens with a teletubby on them and a boy had a blue coat with Thomas the Train on it. One small boy with green eyes had a hat with a ball on the top.

Kakadu National Park

Kakadu National Park
Kakadu was declared a national park on 5 April 1979, and also granted world heritage status in 1979. Kakadu National Park is a magnificent part of Australia, and contains many beautiful features.

The name ?kakadu? comes from the land?s traditional aboriginal owners, the Gagudju people. They have interacted with Kakadu for over 50 000 years, one of the longest periods of interaction found anywhere on earth. The Aboriginal rock art is of particular significance as it provides us an insight of the Gagadju people?s lives for over 50 000 years. The art also records the changes to the physical environment over the time. The Gagadju have a close spiritual bond with knp, meaning that they don?t wish to dominate knp; instead they live in harmony with it.

Chaos in Jurassic Park

Chaos in Jurassic Park
?Chaos theory proves that unpredictability is built into our daily lives.?(Crichton 313). Ian Malcolm?s words resolve the book, Jurassic Park, in a very absolute way. Throughout the book, Malcolm, spoke about chaos theory and his self proclaimed ?Malcolm Effect? to explain his reasoning in his predictions. Ian Malcolm had predicted the demise of Jurassic Park even before its opening, as well as its multiple problems and difficulties. Malcolm?s theory is evidenced countless times throughout the story of Jurassic Park; dinosaurs are breeding, dinosaurs are escaping, and systems fail.

Creative Writing about Meeting Benjamin Franklin

Creative Writing about Meeting Benjamin Franklin
Benjamin Franklin is one of my favorite people in history and I am about to meet him. Since I began to study about him in my history class, I have always been fascinated with his life. I am going to travel through a time machine and we are planning to meet at the local park in Massachusetts, close to where he was born. I admire him for his intelligence as an author, scientist, and a politician. When I arrive at the park he is waiting for me. Obviously he is wearing the usual white puffy shirt with a light weight vest on top. While at the park he teaches me a little bit about electricity and how it works. As we stroll through the park he pulls a kite out of his bag. Honestly I do not know how to fly a kite, so he teaches me, but luckily not during a storm. We both place a pair of bifocal glasses on so we can see the kite flying so high. Benjamin promises me when we are finished at the park we can go back to his home and he will cook me something tasty on his famous Franklin stove. Benjamin teaches me how to play chess so we try a couple of games but I just can not win against him. The clock strikes three o?clock and my day with Benjamin Franklin, one of my favorite people in history, is almost over.

Footpath Erosion in the Yorkshire Dales National Park

Footpath Erosion in the Yorkshire Dales National Park
I decided to look at what is the effect on footpath erosion because of being in a national park. Footpath erosion has become a major problem in the Yorkshire dales, the Yorkshire Dales Park Authority started a project called Three Peaks project which is a counter erosion scheme. The main problem is places at honey spots, which are most frequently used because of the amount of people walking on them this is shown photograph #24. It is shown here that walkers have to walk round the path further adding to the erosion. If Upper Nidderdale were to put in the national park they would suffer these pressures and would have to make additional footpaths that are hard wearing such as the ones in Malham but this would cause a blot on the landscape. One major factor is walker?s boots because they kick away and break down the surface but this is by means no means the only factor. It is not only the walkers that cause the erosion the bike and the heavy footfall of fell runners who can also break the ground up.

A Bird's-Eye View of Wolves

Wolves are a widely studied species in Yellowstone. Since wolves were reintroduced to the park after an absence of almost 80 years, scientists spend a lot of time studying the animals' unique behavior.

The Controversy Over the Brown Spruce Longhorn Beetle

The Controversy Over the Brown Spruce Longhorn Beetle
A little bug is causing a big debate amongst government officials and citizens in the Halifax municipality. The little pest in particular is known as the brown spruce longhorn beetle, and this beetle, native to Europe and believed to have arrived on a container ship about a decade ago, is threatening to ruin Halifax?s largest and busiest park, and could have the potential to ruin all of Nova Scotia?s, and even Canada?s, vast forest is action is not taken.
In order to hault the infestation, the Federal Court has given the Canadian Food Inspection Agency permission to cut down as many as 10 000 red spruce trees, many of which are not yet infested at all. Environmental activists such as the Coalition known as ?Friends of Point Pleasant Park?, greatly oppose this idea, and have raised the issue of scientific uncertainty.

How To Start Writing An Article

How To Start Writing An Article
How To Start Writing An Article
The hardest thing you’ll ever have to do is to ‘start’. When you want to travel, the hardest part is to just ‘go ahead and go’. But once you start, everything follows. The same goes with writing. I don’t know about you, but when I write, the first sentence in the article gets erased five times before one becomes permanent. But once you get through the first sentence, writing the whole article will be a breeze.

There are actually a lot of ways by which you could begin your article. You could start it with a quotation, a question, an anecdote, or you could go straight to the point. There is no exact formula for starting. You can start your article with any sentence, as long as it suits your purpose.

What’s the Purpose of the Article?
